Collaboration to Fight COVID-19 – My Proud Moment

MY PROUD MOMENT OF THE WEEK

The Scientific method and how it really works

In a world divided by the zero-sum game mentality of “for me to win, you must lose”, it makes me so proud as a scientist and as a human-being, to see the active collaboration taking place now. Not only within the scientific community around the world, but also in neighborhoods, cities, countries and organizations from both the private and public sector… all to find ways to limit the spread, limit the harm, and ultimately, “solve” this COVID-19 pandemic. All it required was a common goal and enemy.

Zero-Sum Game: a situation in which one person or group can win something only by causing another person or group to lose it

This incredible collaboration is definitely one of the many silver linings of this very dark cloud, affecting each and every one of us.

It is my sincere hope that COVID-19 was the catalyst we needed to ensure the collaboration will continue to spread around the world within every field where we need a breakthrough.

Some time ago, I was asked during an interview, to explain how the Scientific Method can be used to make a breakthrough in our own lives, organizations, or any field we are passionate about.

In this video, I share my answer on what the scientific method really is, how it works, and how my research lab has used it to develop the simple but powerful decision support method (the Proconcloud) and the Harmony Decision Maker app, to support our mission of helping people make better faster decisions when it really matters, both in their personal lives and at work
