It was great to attend The Table Group’s UnConference 2020 event with Founder Patrick Lencioni in early March.
Patrick Lencioni, New York Times best-selling author, is on a mission to change the world of work. His focus is on shifting to a place where performance and dignity in organizations is the rule, not the exception.
Companies like Southwest Airlines, Chick-fil-A and Ford are proof of the incredible results that can be achieved when this shift is implemented and practiced by leadership teams.
I had the incredible opportunity to meet Pat at UnConference 2019. He was super excited to hear that I worked with Dr Eli Goldratt, creator of Theory Of Constraints and author of The Goal, for over 2 decades. He wanted to know what new research Goldratt Research Labs has been working on and any new insights we’ve gained.
I shared with him that the ultimate constraint or bottleneck in organizations is our limited management attention. As a result, management should focus on changes, not just with the highest ROI, but with the highest ROMA (Return on Management Attention).
He was so impressed that he shared this insight with the conference on both days and on stage and with keynote speakers like the Boeing and Ford CEO legend – Alan Mulally.
